The Spanish Vowels
Spanish has only 5 pure vowel sounds β a, e, i, o, u β and they are always pronounced the same way, unlike English.
- A β like the "a" in "father"
- E β like the "e" in "bed"
- I β like the "ee" in "feet"
- O β like the "o" in "more"
- U β like the "oo" in "food"
The Tricky Sounds
- RR β the rolled R. Practice by saying "butter" fast with a British accent.
- J β a guttural H sound, like clearing your throat lightly.
